Chiezo, a Japanese artist who was based in the USA, had visited Liverpool and described his creation as a vision of the future of 90s Liverpool.

SuperLambBanana
Probably considered to be one of Liverpool’s iconic statues, the SuperLambBanana was commissioned in 1998 for Britain’s Art TransPennine exhibition, and is the work of the Japanese artist Taro Chiezo.
The SLB is currently stood outside LJMU on Tithebarn Street.
