Samit Kumar Mallick belongs to the illustrious musical family of Darbhanga Gharana / Mallick Gharana and represents the 13th generation of this musical lineage. His training in Dhrupad started at an early age under the guidance of his guru and father Padma Shri Pt.
Ram Kumar Mallick, a world renowned Indian Classical Musician. He had privilege to learn from his Grandfather world renowned Dhrupad Legend Pt. Vidur Mallick.
He has stood first at the National Youth festival 2003 organized by Association of Indian University, Delhi.
He has completed PhD in Music from LNMU in the year 2014.
