Michel Murr Sr. first served in the Lebanese Parliament from 1968 to 1972, and had been in Parliament from 1991 till his death 30 years later. He also held ministerial positions from 1979 to 1982, and from 1990 to 2000 (when he was also Deputy Prime Minister).
